music whiplash..
...Startling at first..
I was surfing U-Tube looking for a nice version of Floyd Cramer's "Music box dancer", and ran across this surprising performance.
I didn't know there were lyrics to this tune, and the first time I hear them,They're in Japanese.
The orchestra has the grace to allow this young lady's charming voice to dominate, and I took some small pleasure from her decidedly Appalachian(to my ear)style "yodel".
Labels: Floyd Cramer, Music box dancer

while that was very nice and well worth the 26 minutes it took for me to see, I must say I like their game shows. If this was one of them some pumped game show dude woulda popped up near the steps and clocked her one with a trumpet...I love it when try and injure each other all for the sake of winning 20 bucks. Them crazy folks.
Hey I got a buncha mozarkian music the other day day. doesn't have anything to do with anything but hey...:-P
That was most enjoyable and richly diverse, Ethnomusicologist that I pretend to be.
Music Box Dancer was the first song I ever played on the piano, always had a tender spot for it.
Sling, I'm not sure you're being serious or joking. So, I'm covering both cases:
Sling is serious. Wow! What a wonderful video. Thanks for finding this dude!
Sling is joking. What an awful piece of crap. This stuff smells worse than that leftover cheese I found in the back of my refrigerator the other day.
LOL...I am SO used to this..
Much of the music I enjoy doesn't have a lot of mass appeal.I understand that. :)
Honestly,I thought the orchestra/arrangement was mediocre at best.
I did genuinely enjoy the vocals, listening to them 5 or 6 times.
my mother played floyd cramer all day on her giant wooden stereo when i was a ute. floyd rocks.
So, um...yeah...how about that weather?
allan-don't think I don't know you're bustin' my balls.. ;)
ruby rocks-..as do giant wooden stereos!
I may be a smalch but it gave me the shivers... I am so heartily sick of all these Brittany Spears wannabees with hard ass faces and clothes one size too small who sound like sick birds...and think they are wonderful...
Nice just to see someone just sing the song with humility...and clarity
I always liked Kate Bush, Melanie, Judy Collins and my daughter has introduced me to Tori Amos and others like that and they are so refreshing...they can actually sing the songs without any razzamatz
Thanks Sling
middle child- I call the wannabe types "Generic"..They are cookie cutter, cardboard clones that have nothing unique to offer...Glad you enjoyed this little vid! :)
