Pre-emptive Friday Jukebox Video!

Well Hell and Damnation...
My dear friend JP has recently posted a brilliant satire,an update if you will,on the seven deadly sins.
Follow the link before you read on.
I'll wait...

Here's the Thing,(is life a marvelous circle?..or what?).
I've read the Bible my entire life.
Cover to cover...many times.
Each and every time I peruse the wisdom that is bound between the dog-eared,and yellow highlited pages of my beloved King James version,I ask the Lord;
'Let me know the truth'...
He knows what I mean...He promised that to me.

..and then I hear this person, and that person's estimation, proclamation, and otherwise spin-doctored interperatation of The Word, mangled and twisted to suit their own agenda.

It pisses me straight the fuck off!

I've been saving this tune for a while now.

The truth will set you free!..
End of pontification.

Rainey- I know, that you know what I'm sayin'.
Whenever I'm bold enough to put myself in the Lord's shoes,(size 10 sneakers btw,..functional,and comfortable),..
it occurs to me that,as much as I love my own children, how much greater must His love be?..it's a no brainer.
More applesauce cake please.

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet."
I do love that song and its message.

In my work I've seen far too many cases where a Daddy (or a Mommy) does not, in fact, love their children. But I think we all carry the ideal in our heads of how a parent's love can/should be - I think that's what the song is tapping into. Unconditional love. I may not believe in God, but I surely do believe in Love.

well, that brought a lump to my throat.

there's a real nasty dad up in the clouds who did indeed seem to love his son only now and then. i'm glad that he wasn't my dad.

Even a heathen like me can get choked up once in a while.. and it wasn't the cake.

mom- ..it lights the way.

Citizen- hell,..I don't especially believe in god myself.
But,I really do think that the dismal affairs of humans don't necessarily negate His existence.
I guess my bitch here,is with those that pick and choose biblical reference to further their own prejudice.Clearly, they have never actually cracked open a Bible,(or the Koran,or the Epic of Gilgamesh for that matter),and thought about what it is really telling us.

billy P.- That lump in your throat?
It's what fathers sign up for when they have children.

doralong - That choked up feeling comes from that place in your heart where truth resides.
I don't wanna get all religious on yer ass,but the cake...Manna from Heaven!

JP's list reminded me of a really bad blackout sketch from a High School variety show we put on back in... never mind, let's just say a while ago.

I came on dressed as a very skinny Moses holding the tablets - look at the audience and say:

Hey my names Moses and I got ten of the wildest one-liners you ever heard!

That particularly scene didn't get past the dress rehearsal.

Ah Sling, I can hardly see to type...you bugger. If we could easily get rid of all the shitheads in this world what a wondrous place hey.

Today I have been going through some of Don's emails and documents on his computer... couldn't do it earlier...and all through them is his love for our girls and me and everyone in the family who needed.

Little bits and bibs and phrases only he said and page after page of support for our youngest Alison when she was so ill for so long,...the wedding preparations he was working n for Melissa...

then your bloody wonderful song...

But hey thanks. Its good to hear these things...sometimes you stop feeling a bit... for you own good... but needs must and it comes out when it will...
