Don't worry,..I'm keeping my day job.

I recieved my very first guitar on my 8th birthday.
It was an Harmony,F-hole,accoustic,(The very same style guitar John Denver started with,as a matter of useless trivia),and probably at least two-thirds as big as I was.
Along with the gift, came 10 free lessons!..
I learned to tune the beast, properly fret the strings, and even play,in single notes,my very first tune.
After that,it was every man for himself.
Here's that music, vastly changed over the years, and with all my mistakes preserved in one take!

I enjoyed that, Sling. I once tried to learn the guitar - I learned the chords - but alas, I am tone deaf and couldn't put those chords together. I learned a few riffs but that was it. It was a very short musical career.

sadly, i don't, sling. what's worse is that my grandfather used to make guitars and mandolins back in the day so they were always available. my younger brother picked it up though while i found the act of making them more interesting.

Wow, very nice! My younger son walked through the room and said, We're palying that in band - it's called Malaguena. (He got his guitar and lessons at starting whn he was 8. too, and still plays. But it's the older one, who started at 12, who just plays guitar ALL THE TIME now.)

Hale Mckay- I can't read music, and don't know the names of most of the chords I play, but it's fun!

danny- Dude!..Back in the day,I mean WAY back,my family were notable harpsichord makers..for real.

Citizen- ..surprised he recognized my version..;)
My son plays as well, and has written some fun tunes.
I'll have to round up a recording of our duet.

kimberly ann- These days,I only ever do the things I love. :)

booda babe- Hell yes!..I can play some harmonica too.
We can get hammered and raise a rauckus and be famous!..For a day.

Everyone stand back!..Hat has passed out!..We'll need to loosen that collar a tad,and perform some emergency CPR! :P

DAMN - that was beautiful. You know it's good when you're popping goosebumps and saying Mmm! to yourself, listening to a computer video. I loved that, Sling. Also, your stache should have it's own show, and that should not involve CPR on the Hat.

thanks for posting that.

Thank you for this...and we get to see you beyond your arms... not bad for 54 (its a good year - I know) I just enjoyed listening so much... I started the piano once but ran away from boarding school and lost the lessons...life sort of got a hold of me then and didn't go back to it...but I admire those who had the love of music and the backbone to work at it...101 out of 100 okat Sling.

and like Yellowdog granny - autogtaph please Sling

What is that thing? It looks a lot like a guitar , except without an amplifier and two stacks of electronic FX processors. It sounds good, whatever it is.
