It's almost midnight...

..and I've been pounding away at this since I got home from work.
Finally,I managed to get things back up and running, with the help of a kind stranger....

Still lots of stuff I need to install...
Programs...updates..It will probably take a day or two before I'm satisfied with the end product.

..I think I'm going to like this new version of windows XP.

Ooh, did you sell your soul to him at a crossroad? He's a right scary looking fellow. Glad to see you're back in the land of the blogging.

Isn't it insane when these things take over and consume you? It shows me just how darn dependent I am on this techy stuff and I am simply a total dunderhead with the stuff. Your persistence has paid off and the grand prize awaits you! Back to your sling-cave---until then we shall await here in Gotham for the light to appear in the sky.

Oh the happiness abounds! I miss XP. I hate Vista. You chose wisely. Evily, but wisely.

I thought all MS products were the Evil Edition.

Gawd, all that reinstallation stuff is such a pain. I feel for you. We're all so attached to our computers, though, that we'll jump through whatever hoops the software gods order us to. I hate, hate, hate Vista!

vista bugged the crap out of me for a while until sonny made some adjustments and microsoft sent out some fixes, now it works like a charm.

it would have been a total disaster without a geeky engineer son.

rube- I have a couple of friends with Vista, and they seem to like it well enough. But I'd like to spend some time putzing around with it before I make the change.

Nice to see you back! :)

Computers are such a pain in the ass, and yet we bloggers are addicted. Good luck with it!

Now remember...once you have all the new programs installed you have the priest come bless it BEFORE you reboot. And a little vial of water from Lourdes is always a nice thing to have handy. Just in case.

Umm, sweetie if you had to make a deal with the Evil one himself, why on earth did you not trade up and request a nice new iMac instead????

I've got a computer sitting here that doesn't have a coa for windows and I'm considering loading Ubuntu onto it since it's free...
