It's almost midnight...
..and I've been pounding away at this since I got home from work.
Finally,I managed to get things back up and running, with the help of a kind stranger....
Still lots of stuff I need to install...
Programs...updates..It will probably take a day or two before I'm satisfied with the end product.
..I think I'm going to like this new version of windows XP.

Ooh, did you sell your soul to him at a crossroad? He's a right scary looking fellow. Glad to see you're back in the land of the blogging.
ahh, there's my sling*...missed ya..
do you happen to have a copy of a windows xp home or office? I am waiting for my friend in hawaii to send me a copy..but he's on a kidney dialiasis machine 3 times a week 4 hours a time and know it's not top priorty to get one in the mail for me.I'm going around asking all my blogging buddies to see if they have a copy they can send me...
hope you didn't have to make some weird ass promise to the devil to get your new xp...
more cowbell-I feel like I've been to hell and back!
I'm still in the process of reinstalling ALL my stuff...2 years worth.
yellowdog G.-I'm sending you an e-mail. ;)
Isn't it insane when these things take over and consume you? It shows me just how darn dependent I am on this techy stuff and I am simply a total dunderhead with the stuff. Your persistence has paid off and the grand prize awaits you! Back to your sling-cave---until then we shall await here in Gotham for the light to appear in the sky.
cs-I am totally dependent on my computron!
Still,I'm gonna take a break here in a few and make the rounds.
Oh the happiness abounds! I miss XP. I hate Vista. You chose wisely. Evily, but wisely.
I thought all MS products were the Evil Edition.
Gawd, all that reinstallation stuff is such a pain. I feel for you. We're all so attached to our computers, though, that we'll jump through whatever hoops the software gods order us to. I hate, hate, hate Vista!
I came this close to installing Vista instead of XP..I had the disk in,and the compatabilty test said everything was okay, but I decided to go with the devil I know..Listening to you guys,I'm glad I did!
vista bugged the crap out of me for a while until sonny made some adjustments and microsoft sent out some fixes, now it works like a charm.
it would have been a total disaster without a geeky engineer son.
hello there...just wanted to tell you that i have changed the address to my site. is everything okay with your computer now?
rube- I have a couple of friends with Vista, and they seem to like it well enough. But I'd like to spend some time putzing around with it before I make the change.
Merelyme- There you are!..I dropped by the old house and you were gone.
Nice to see you back! :)
Computers are such a pain in the ass, and yet we bloggers are addicted. Good luck with it!
Now remember...once you have all the new programs installed you have the priest come bless it BEFORE you reboot. And a little vial of water from Lourdes is always a nice thing to have handy. Just in case.
Truth in advertising...cool!
Umm, sweetie if you had to make a deal with the Evil one himself, why on earth did you not trade up and request a nice new iMac instead????
lol, like the splash screen there:-P
I've got a computer sitting here that doesn't have a coa for windows and I'm considering loading Ubuntu onto it since it's free...
