***Sunday Geek Update!***

LOS ANGELES - Mathematicians at UCLA have discovered a 13 million-digit prime number, a long-sought milestone that makes them eligible for a $100,000 prize!

The three mathematicians responsible for the discovery, are now engaged in a bitter dispute over how to equally divide the prize money..

Sage- Oddly enough, they found this new prime number while searching for a new prime interest rate.

That is sooooo nerdy.

And you'd think with them working on this problem for so long, that they would have sat down for a few minutes and decided how the prize money would be divided up if they won.

That's the truly nerdy part. :)

MHP- I'll tell you how big a nerd I am.
These guys have me thinking all day about the practical applications for such a number.
The 'bitter dispute' part is my own nerdy attempt at irony. ;)

i didn't get to where i am today by trusting 3 mathematicians.

but it's gonna take me a while to verify their number.

Billy P.- I'm up to 6,827,493 digits..I need more coffee.

Rosie- Now he can relax, and get back to work on that perpetual motion machine!

Mighty D.- Mathematician's Pi r squared,..did you know that?
..sorry,that's all I got.
Thanks for stoppin' by buddy! :)

Yellerdawg G.- It's naysayers like you that that would have us go back to the days of 9 million digits! :P

middle child- What about the extra $.001 huh?...HUH??...I thought so.

Mighty D made me chuckle. It was an odd chuckle, though even in tone and definitely prime for merriment.

kimberly ann- I just love all this mathematical merriment!..It's a real geekfest. :)

Now there's three guys with way too much time on their hands. If it took them a year to find the number, and they divided the money equally, that's not even minimum wage in California, is it?
