This is my plan..

The Debates are on!..

Frankly,I knew they would happen,if for no other reason than they simply had to!..
I can't explain it.
If I had my 'druthers,I'd 'druther be watching them over at Sage's Naked Debate Party.
Sadly,I'll just have to stay at home, and hope she posts videos of the whole affair.

If there's been an advantage to all this free time I've had of late,it's that I've been able to immerse myself in the election coverage offered up by the media pundits on both sides of aisle.
Namely MSNBC(me!),and FOX(the proverbial 'them'),..and here's what Ive decided.
It's not whether the glass is half full,or half empty,..it's the annoying fact that some body's been drinkin' outta my goddamm glass!

So,I'm going to watch, and really listen to the candidates with an open mind!
I mean,..I'm going to try my level best.
Then I'm going to offer up a silent prayer, that the good Lord will grant me the wisdom to simply know that something is good when I hear it.

Oh,I'm still gonna watch it on MSNBC!
I can't just go cold turkey after all..

Sage- Hey!..Maybe Rachel Maddow will get naked!

Lost- Cat's an all time favorite of mine.
Too bad Homeland Security didn't listen to his music before they put him on the terrorist watch-list.
Do you get NBC?..That would be my next choice.

What a breath of fresh air, is that Rachel!..and she has an IQ and can actually speak in complete sentences...qualities unlike some vice presidential candidates. Oops, sorry.

So, we will all be viewing these debates naked?

Billy P.- Is Cat's music in the video?..No matter.
It sounds like a good time in any case.

austexgrl- Rachel makes me want to be a better lesbian!..all kidding aside, she's brilliant..A Rhoades scholar you know.
Also, all kidding aside,..yes,we will all be watching the debates naked.
..it's a rule.

NO, really? An open mind? That doesn't seem very sporting of you.

I'm going in with jaw set and cocktail in hand (which is pretty damned helpful for those moments when reason fails but you still need to yell something.)

booda babe- By 'Open mind',I mean I'm going to scrutinize every Mccain attempt to make some sort of sense out of his backwards-ass politics with a freakin' electron microscope, and then vote for Obama come November...I thought you knew?

Love Cat Stevens.
We seem to have similar taste in music and politics. One thing that was really obvious to me in tonight's debate is that McCain is really a very old man.

Well, I watched but with Katie....don't know why exactly. Here is my take to use a word of Cowbell's......McSame. I was nervous watching and listening. The end was predictable...McSame brought up his war years...sympathy voters please. He also stated he would suspend all programs but the Veteran ones. Sorry, but the vets are NOT taken care of now. I will be 64 in just a few weeks. What about the aging programs, John? Ahem, you are how old? Sorry Sling for grandstanding but damn I feel better.

mom- There were points during the debate, where it seemed to me that Mccain just kind of wandered off aimlessly.
Maybe it's time to start looking into a home for the oldtimer.
I'm sure his healthcare insurance is good for it.

Yellerdawg- I had a good time over at allan's too!
There was a moment there where I lost my internet connection and was all like 'CRAP!',but that didn't last long.
In my honest opinion,Barack just came off a lot more presidential than Mccain.

Rosie- I thought the whole war experience thing was totally gratuitous, and strangely out of context.
I don't want to take anything away from him as a veteran, but that in itself doesn't qualify him to be president.
..and you've got a soapbox here anytime you want it doll! :)

Today..the sad news about Paul Newman...McCain should look and see what a Role Model actually looks like.
Paul Newman was an honest, humble man, who donated millions to charity and never boasted about his accomplishments. I have to admit, I had a crush on him All my life, and believe that The Verdict was one of his finest roles...although it was not his most publicized role.
BTW, did anyone notice that McCain had a terrible time with eye contact last night??

austexgrl- Mr. Newman was one of the good guys alright.
You know what I liked most about his films?..Whether he was playing a good guy,or a scoundrel,or a drunk,or a theif,..he was always likeable!

The talking heads remarked about Mccain not looking at Obama. Some said that was his style..I just thought it was childish, and rude.

My impressions of McCain during the debate?

Condescending and angry.

Of course, that's what I thought of him before the debate. :)

MHP- Exactly!..
It wil be interesting to see how Biden is perceived when he can't help but appear to be 'talking down' to Sarah.
I mean,face it,in a battle of wits she's only half qualified.

Hey! I love it when you play a song I know all the words to!

I wanted to marry Cat Stevens once upon a time. I guess it's a good thing that never happened...I don't think I'd look so hot in a burka.
