An actual,by god, #1 smash hit!

Okay,..it was number one in 1963,and it's sung entirely in Japanese..
You didn't think I was gonna let you off that easy did ya?

'I look up when I walk,so my tears won't fall'..
That shit's poetry right there!

Oh No now I feel really bad. My broadband is slow, so it took a while for the whole song to come down...it really was a hit in the US (F...)

then to see what a nice guy he was and what happened, I'll now go and whip me with a pepper switch! See what happens with a slow connection... and it is before 7am by our time...

sadness reflected in the stars, sorrow in the moonlight. Now if I wasn't feeling sad before... tonight I'm all alone.

Middle Child- Believe it or not,I actually went searching for this tune.
I found it on YouTube, and converted it to 'avi' so I could save it,and keep YouTube from blocking me from imbedding it.
It truly was a HUGE hit right here in the U.S.of A.
In fact, when I was playing it for the first time,Mom o' LK came running into my room,'I LOVE that song'!!..
..That makes two of us. :)

Lost- Until I downloaded this video a couple of days ago,I had no idea what the lyrics were.I'm certain very few people did back in '63 either, but it's heartfelt quality had us all hooked.
Michael Jackson did a passable version of it,but his lyrics were totally different.

I remeber this song, although I don't know why I would since I was less than a year old when it was a hit.

This song is a big hit at the holiday party karaoke machine. I work for a Japanese company. Very touching end to the video.

Citizen- No doubt, your mom and pops played it for you when you were just a little baby citizen of the world!

booda babe- What say we all pound down some hot sake, and kareoke together. :)

Sage- I'd like to say that there was some profound reason I went searching for this tune, but mostly I was just hammered.

Billy P.- If The Pogues cranked out a version, there just might be that chance!

Thinker- Those Japanese kids know how to throw a party. :)

Yellerdawg- I wonder if this guy was ever on American Bandstand??

mom- Really?..You must have been one of those beatnicks that only listened to FM.. ;)

AnonyJenn- We were both about ten years old at the time weren't we..
Even now,in my cranky years,it makes me smile too! :)
