..thumb twiddling.

I'm pretty much over this whole 'free time' business.

It seemed kinda cool at first.
I mean, now I can sleep 'till 8 AM,roll outta the sack, and spend my day catching up on all those daytime television programs that I normally watch whenever I call in sick...Hoda Kotb is next on the list of future ex-Slings by the way.
..But I digress.

Even better!..I found myself with an abundance of movies on the 1,327,692 channels we get, courtesy of Lizzard King's fortuitous association with DirecTV,..the world's most desirable sattelite television provider, and proud sponsor of something really cool that I can't remember right now.

Well,I've gone through ALL of the blockbuster,in your face, check out the high dollar special effects!!,action adventure, starring your favorite actor/actress offerings, and that's all well and good.

Then I moved on to those foreign films that don't get all the pre-release media hype, but still garner some pretty impressive accolades from the good folks that bring us the Canne's film festival, the Sundance film festival, and the Barstow talking picture bonanza and all you can eat Mongolian barbecue festival.

Having exhausted that cornucopia of fine celluloid artistry,I reluctantly soldiered on to conquer the nether-world of 'romantic comedies',(and if confronted with that accusation,I'll vehemently deny it,..under oath).
Still,(sniff),it seems clear to me that Charlie Sheen and Angie Harmon are so destined to be together!..Just sayin'.

Wait a minute!!..There seems to be one more frontier of box office delights I've neglected to cross, in my never ending search for quality distraction!
..Where have they been hiding all this time??
This is the greatest thing since sliced bread!
Humor and pathos,..drama and intrigue!
..I just can't wait to find out if poor little Nemo finds his way home!!

It's Wednesday, and life is full of possibilities in Sling's Domain.

It doesn't matter how many channels you get, on daytime TV all of the commercials scream, "Loser."

The best movies are on the Spice Channel. I just finished watching Saving Ryan's Privates for the third time.

Dude, until you are all caught up all the seasons of "Gilmore girls" and "Battlestar Galactica" you can't even think about going back to work.

Perhaps you could read a book.

Oh I know what happens to Nemo ..I just don't want to spoil it for you.
I say you watch QVC and call in telling them how awesome the product you didnt buy is. Great entertainment!

Um, unsliced bread is generally much tastier than sliced. Just sayin'.

(Use a power saw and safety goggles when slicing)

Isn't there a channel that shows old tv shows? you know the classics? I think I would get bored with tv fairly quickly...I think I would break out books and start studying quantum mechanics or something. I so love that you have the lunar phase on your page. My cycle is alligned with the moon, and I see it is currently waxing gibbous. That explains why I've been moody.. ok that is probably more than you wanted to know.

Thank goodness you haven't moved down into the Jerry Springer-Steve Wilkos-Judge Somebody quagmire. Makes the Roman Colosseum look like kindergarten.

Might I suggest from Steve, Modern Marvels, Dirty Jobs, my favorite QVC to help expand your wardrobe and Steve's absolute favorites, Pinks and some stupid car show about betting the speed of a car going down the track. You could watch
Barrett's auctions, did you miss the OJ trial? Judge Judy is OK, Judge Joe Brown funny at times.....if you need more suggestions let me know.

Jan- Are you telling me that the guy that gives away those free computer learning programs isn't really my friend??..

Yellerdawg- I already devoured the SciFi channel.Once they ran out of benign creatures to make into giant people eaters,it lost it's charm.

Mighty D.- I've set my DVR to record the entire series of 'Co-ed confidential',..so I got that covered.

Rainey- I don't know about Gilmore girls, but I could get hooked on BSG 'cause, you know, alien chicks are hot!

mom- What?..and risk missing an episode of 'Runway moms'??

Sage- I don't watch QVC anymore.
I'm still trying to figure out what to do with 32 bags of potpourri.

alan- I sweated over that sentence.
I should have gone with 'Hamburger Helper'.

Lost- The whole reason I keep a lunar calendar,is so I can keep track of those cycles in the women around me...saved my ass more than once.

kimberly ann- I stop by Jerry's every once in while,if for no other reason than to assure myself that I'm not her baby's daddy.

Rosie- 'Modern Marvels' and 'How it's Made' are among my favorites!
I'm also a huge fan of those marathons on 'History Channel'..

Oh the joys of Unenjoyment! Not a TV watcher here, but I can recommend a good book. I just read Terry Pratchett's new novel "Nation". It's very good. If you like that one, he has 30 odd more books.

Other than that, I'm not sure what to suggest to pass the time, except maybe telling us all some more of your excellent stories. Just a suggestion.

Maybe it's time to do the Netflix thing and get all the Oscar nominees for the last 60 years.

Okay, fair enough if you decided to throw my comment away. I'd have probably done it, too, but now I'm trying to remember what it is I wrote. :( I spend half my time reconstructing crap that's lost in cyber space.

Anyway, if I wrote something accidentally icky, I'm sorry. I'll try harder, do better, aim higher and other shit next time.

Or maybe not. It's early in the day and I'm feeling ambitious.

Evil G.- I really do need to toddle my happy ass on down to the liberry, and catch up on everything that's been written since 1978..

anne- That's fine idea!..I'll bet there's a ton of flix I haven't thought of in years that deserve a re-viewing. :)

booda..booda babe...boodatude- Honey,if you posted a comment,I hot damm guarantee ya that I wouldn't throw it away!..
Blogger does that crap to me too,on occasion.
I KNOW it said my comment was saved,but when I go back,it ain't there..Bastards!
I've no doubts that whatever you had to say,it was witty and fun,in that delightful style I've come to expect from you! :)

From here to God's ear as well...a prayer that your old boss gets going again and gives you the nod. Not sure what the financial situation is but it can't be good, so take care okay.

Any of HBO's shows are good...Have you seen the Deadwood series? Its addictive...a bit rough for some
