Important Update!..

As of this morning,my plan to remain lazy and worthless is moving along quite nicely!...

..more as the story developes.

EDIT: It seems the story developed.
That bold, brassy, and beautiful Middle Child sent me this marvelous poem.

"Leisure"..William Henry Davies.

What is this life if, full of care,
we have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs,
and stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
and watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can,
enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
we have no time to stand and stare.

...wish I'd said that.

You are a guiding inspiration to us all. Hail sloth.

doralong- This,in spite of repeated attempts to coax me into productive activity!..Thanks for your support!

jan- If my inaction can serve as an inspiration to just one stressed out,and heavily burdoned overachiever, then it will all have been worth it.

Good for you! I have some slothful time coming to me, but it will have to wait. But I'll live vicariously through your slothliness.

Oh what a mighty slug you are! And I bow to your greatness. I would toot my own horn as well if I wasn't so damn lazy.

Love,
Julie

I sent my daughters a copy of this poem

And you know Sling I was sooo pleased when I visited her and she had stuck it up... albeit in the toilet...

We Celts need this time and recognise this ... its just the Poms who call it laziness.. and sloth...

Not sure what your ancestry is but there has to be celt in there somewhere they got around you know... many's a man cuckolded by a celtic traveller teee hee

middle child- I.Love.This.Poem!
We all get busy with things...Important things to be sure, but still.
We owe it to ourselves to take a moment,(or 4 days),to enjoy the simple luxury of doing nothing but stand, and stare.

..Pops was a thick necked German..Mom was Scotch/Irish...a combination which has since been outlawed by most civilized countries. ;)

You know Sling you have the same racial mix as our daughters... mine is all Irish (with an Aussie twist for perfection and interest)... Don's mostly Scots with German and Pommie on his mother's side... scary stuff...

ENJOY YOUR ANCESTRY OKAY! DON'T EVER TRY TO FIGURE IT ALL OUT... IT JUST IS.

Great poem, I think the author really captured a big truth.
