**Update**

Well hell...
It's been a fortnight since my good friend Drooly has made an appearance.

Given the nature of his condition, and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance,I've resigned myself to conclude that young Drools of the feline persuasion has scampered off,in pursuit of his well deserved reward.

He asked for naught, and gave his friendship in return.
I'll miss the little furbag.

I am saddened for your loss, and I hope Drooly has found an eternal supply of catnip and canned tunafish.

Oh, that's so sad. Of course you never can tell with cats - sometimes they have another famiy on the side and re-appear after a long absence looking all sleek and well-fed.

Oh poor Drooly, he might be up playing with my Barney.

JP- Thanks buddy..I think he'd enjoy that. :)

middle child- Cats do tend to seclude themselves when they don't feel well.
Drooly was SO sick, and it's been over two weeks,so I don't imagine he fared well.
He's also nuetered btw..

Dora- We're keeping the food dish filled,in any case.

yellerdawg- I like the idea of Drools and Rocky out Tom Cattin' together!

lost- He certainly will be missed.
He and I had a lot in common.
We both entered middle age with more than a few battle scars.

citizen- I've had cats like that.
Remember 'Part Time Cat'?
Anywhiz,Drooly wasn't really prone to that kind of behavior.

Sage- I'll tell ya something for real.
One of the main reasons I left the Lutheran church is because they don't believe animals have souls, and are thus excluded from Heaven..
Don't tell me that crap!

Unlike dogs with great loyalty, cats are, face it, sell outs for a better life.

jan- See!..yet another thing Drooly and I have in common. ;)

the fog comes
on little cat feet

it sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on

god bless drooly

Oh sling.....I'm so sorry about your missing little furbag....you know how I feel about my babies...not have a soul...CATS???? of course they do, and big hearts and a sense of humor....I have proof in the scars on my arms.

Hopefully when he gets to where all good cats go I hope that Drooly runs into my Reese and Bundine - yeah I think good dogs go to the same place and frankly if I thought heaven didn't allow pets I not sure I want to go there.

Those crazy little bastard cats, make us love them soooooo much and then - off they go. Cats'll be sort of perfect when they learn how to send postcards.

Oh Sling, I'm SO sorry to hear about this!

As the "Mom" of 2 cats, I can only say that I sympathize greatly with you. When my cats leave this earth someday, I will be VERY sad.

And animals excluded from heaven? That's a buncha bull!! They are probably at a higher spiritual level than us up there! *grin*

Sling :( --- im sorry.... but kitty heaven must be a wonderful place-- where al drolly will do is sit on a lap and purr.

Billy P.- I like that..
I like that a lot.

jennifer77- I know it's not easy to decide that we've simply seen the last of Drools hon.
I only knew him a short time,so I can only imagine how hard it must be for you.

Rosie- Cats do kind of personify the ornery-ness that lies within all of us.
I think the good Lord probably admires that quality!

willym- See!..I can't imagine going to my heaven, only to discover that critters aren't allowed.
I mean,..what's the deal?

Rainey- I get a little verklempt myself..
He was a good fella.

mom- It is sad.
He was all goofy-eyed and drooly and stuff, but he always took time out to stop by and say hi..Like a bud.

booda babe- Ha!..I can imagine getting a 'glad your not here' postcard from the little guy. ;)

MHP- I'm so glad you said that!..My own feeling is that most of the animals I've known should rightfully deserve to be in heaven before many people I've known.

Mouse- ..and drool, and sit on the edge of the couch, observing the world with disdain..
I'm gonna miss thaat.
