Sloop John P*...
My dear friend JP is hangin' up his blog.
We've known each other for going on 73 years now,and even though we've never met in real life,we've laughed,and cried,and raised our glasses in celebration 'till way past closing time,on more occasions than I can count.
I expect he'll drop in from time to time with a six-pack of Bud Light,and brighten Sling's Domain with his delightfully singular Brand O' Bitterness.
The following tune really isn't his cup of tea,as near as I can tell,..but like him,it's definitely a rare performance.

73...er 71/2 years is amazing. So many people write for a few months or weeks and hang it up because it really is a lot of effort and they aren't getting adoration or famous.
He'll be back, mark my words.
Yellerdawg- I really hate it!..Now I have to check you blog every 5 minutes to make sure you're still alive.

I'm bitter. Really bitter. Okay, not really, because that's very negative and we do not like negativity.
Anyway, now that I've seen about a trillion films all in a row, I know for a FACT that he could be writing screenplays and so if he's not going to blog, I hope he at least does that and gets the hell out of that charming Omaha.
No. I'm not bitter, but I'm a little sad.
I've lost a few favourites like this, sometimes you hear from them again...more often than not in my case not at all...There used to be a blogger called Mirksome Bogle...who kept me mightily amused with his comings and goings and th amount of "numpty's that was car crashes outside his place... and others..
don't you just disappear sling okay! or you'll be in big trouble and we all know your secrets now...
I will miss JP! I'm sad he's not bloggin' anymore!
I have been off and on for a time now. Sorry to hear JP is off. Hope he will just take time to go back and forth and write when he is in the mood, and relax when he isn't. Blogging is much less stressful that way, even if your readership dwindles to dribs and drabs.
