Sunday reverie stuff..
I was sick as the proverbial mongrel yesterday. No doubt, due to my saturated excursions up and down the streets of O-Town.
Chills,body aches,coughing,..but no fever.Go figure.
I'm feeling a lot better today, after mass quantities of NyQuil, and a couple of Vicadin left over from the tragic spider bite incident some few months back.
So,I wanted to share a favorite Sunday song with y'all! (insert audible moan from audience here,..which I shall choose to ignore).
Anyway,..I tried to find it on U-Tube.All they had was a version that I couldn't get to play properly.I think it might have something to do with Viacom being bastards that suck, but I'm not sure.
Then I tried to find it on Veoh...Not even close.
I had no other choice but to reach into my giant stainless steel vault, and upload the audio file myself.
'Leader of the band' by Dan Fogelberg has a lot of parallels to my own experience. Some will be readily apparent,some..not so much.
Personally,I could have done without the disturbing horn interludes, but then,Mr. Fogelberg seldom seeks my opinion of such things.

Labels: Dan Fogelberg, Viacom sucks

i do hope you are feeling better soon!
I never heard of a 24 hour cold, but apparently that's all it was.
Thanks for the link btw,I'm adding yours to my blogroll. :)
I have found when I am sick for one day or two with no fever, but all the symptoms of the flu or cold...it's a slight case of food poison...wonder???
ahh, great song...
Yellowdog G.-That could be..I buy sandwiches from a mini-mart near work for lunch.Maybe there's some questionable content.
Glad you're feeling better, Sling, but c'mon...you KNOW it's a wive's tale that being out in the weather makes you sick. It may lower your resistance to some bug going around, but it won't make you catch a cold. More likely some 24 hour flu bug you caught. But glad you're better. Stay away from those mini-mart sandwiches, though. Bad mayo is always a possibility!
gina-I really do know that.
Whatever it was,I was probably exposed to days before.Even food poisoning take a while to manifest itself. In any case,it came and went.. :)
Yeeeee! Nyquil on it's own is a trip around the world.
babs-lol..Yeppers,I didn't leave the house all day Saturday!
what a drag, being stuck in the house after football season. i turned on my tv and found golf.
i didn't get to where i am today by watching golf on tv. i understand judge judy is on larry king tonight and they're going to discuss that dead blond.
larry, judy and a dead blond.
if that isn't nice, what is?
I can't believe Fogelberg didn't consult you about the song arrangement. How rude was that? But glad you are feeling better.
Need to wash your hands, lay off the deli food...fast food is no better...and rather than spend a bundle on Nyquil, just get a bottle of Jack and slug it down.
Nyquil and Vicodin...that would bring back some memories -except I've forgotten most of that decade.
ruby rox!-It's like a goddamm trifecta!..only better.. ;)
CSL-Fogelberg and I have an ongoing fued..
He doesn't learn play any of my music,so I don't learn to play any of his.
My wild Irish Rosie-I ALWAYS wash my hands before I go to the bathroom!..
allan-I tried to convince my pharmacist that the peyote mushrooms were for medicinal purposes..He wasn't buyin' it.:o
Feel better Sling. That is a direct order from the captain of the U.S. Folgleberg (ironically enough, he is HUGE in the Gamma quadrant)
Freaky-'Longer Than' is another one of my favorites!
Thanx for the chicken soup kid. :)
Vangie-Hiya sunshine!..Let's see..
Traveling at the speed of light,it took 27 hours to reach you(minus a few minutes for bathroom breaks and such)..So Gamma quadrant must be like....Holy Crap!..way farther than Utah even!.. :)
Glad you're feeling better.
Confession: I have a thing for Dan Fogelberg. Saw him in concert way, way back in the day and was over the moon. (Shhh, don't tell).
lorraine-..So I guess writing a "lorraine has a thing for Dan" post is out of the question?.. ;)
Yeah, if you don't mind just keeping it between us. Although, for what it's worth and just between us, I was so excited that I commissioned my room-mate to make me an outfit for the event (seriously, the only other time I put this much thought into a concert outfit was the Boomtown Rats, when I pierced one ear for the second time - oh, how punk - and ok, I just also remembered a Ramones concert that involved a leather bomber jacket and also a rock-a-billy concert that involved a black pencil skirt and a black & white polka dot blouse...where was I?... Right). So my room-mate sewed this beautiful outfit for me...white eyelet...straight skirt to the floor and a matching halter top (because it was the 70s and a girl could do that)...god, I looked so pretty. And did I mention that I went with a complete a--hole? No? How's that for a Happy Valentines Day?
