Batten Down the Hatches,..There's a Storm Brewin'!..

..I always wanted to say that.

The biggest winter storm in over a decade is poised to swoop down on O-Town like some giant swooping thing!

Rob,the channel 24 weather geek,is all twitterpated over the prospects, and I'm sure is lording over my favorite news anchor, Ashley-of-the-blond-persuasion,even now.
Barometers are rising, thermometers are falling, and the satellite picture looks like one of those swirling painted things you make yourself in 3rd grade art class...I love those things!..anyway..
This is what all that boils down to;

For you Cosmetology buffs,..It's gonna be a bad hair day!

For you Meteorology buffs,(who clearly don't give a damm about your hair,or hygiene in general),..We're due to get 10 feet of snow in the mountains,6 inches of rain in the valley, and winds upwards of 65 miles per hour!..

Add to that an abundance of inevitable, and unpredictable blackouts, and it looks like "This is a'goin ta be a whopper!" (I like to wax all Northeastern Seaboard in these situations..ay'up).
All this mayhem is scheduled, for our shopping convenience,to begin long about 5:00 pm central O-Town time.
We've got everything secured, candles and flashlights at the ready, and plenty of leftover pizza bread to carry us through the next 48 hours.
the Lizzard King and I both have battery powered laptops in the event of a power outtage,so as long as the internet stays up,we should be fi..................

Hahahaha and Wow. Rosemary's Mammoth (ha) blizzard o' nought-eight tale on top of your hatch battening news ... eeeeek. It's so exciting!! Sorry. It's always exciting when you're sitting in the plump, lazy ass mid-section of the state with nothing but clouds and a little surf to ooh and ahh over.

Although we have had torrential rains. And mudslides. And we were stranded for a week once. They swear we're going to get your left overs. You can't ski on leftovers.

Pbpbpbp. It's good you got juice in the laptops. Do you have hot chocolate? Do you want care packages?

but did you remember to buy toilet paper? One needs extra during big storms.
It's getting cold in Maryland. 19 degrees, but no snow.

Good luck with the big storm Sling! I'm sure it will wind up screwing with us in Chicago before all is said and done. Time to put a fresh coat of wax on the snowboard. I always assumed O town was Oakland, am I wrong?

Yes, I can not stress enough the importance of coffee. Followed in short order by toiletries.
Considering that it is now the next day and you have yet to post, I am choosing to assume you are at work rather than under a house. Please tell me you did not wear your ruby slibbers.

Slibbers?! I don't even know what that means!

I'm still adjusting to that West Coast fact that "big storm" means wind, rain, trees falling over, flooding, and power outages, as opposed to snow, ice, snow, wind chill, snow, snow plow shortages, and power outages.

Do you have twister? Also, a pillow fight in skimpy skivvies keeps the body temperature up as well as relieving boredom.

As long as your plumbing holds up, things should be bearable...
