Sometimes,..I really crack myself up.

Like most Bloggers,..I initially started my blog because I figured it would be a great way to pick up babes.
Once it became evident that babes in cyberspace have standards, just like they do in real life,I decided to shift the focus of my efforts toward a more noble endeavor.
..Winning Valuable Prizes!.

Most recently,..and to my delight,..Craggy Island's most celebrated Blogger,Shrinky, posed a 'Caption these Photos' challenge on her wonderful blog, 'Shrink Wrapped Scream'

Well,..I chose to try my hand at putting a few words in the mouth of Shrinky's handsome hound 'Jake',..and I WON!!

'Wow, the shoreline drops off pretty quick..Wait right there Shrinky,..I'll go get help'.

I could not be more pleased, because the Grand Prize is a copy of Darlene Duncan's beautifully illustrated, and delightfully versed children's book,'Keen Colory Critters'!..

Thanks so much Shrinky for the fun contest,..and tip o' the lid to Chewy on the charming book!
No doubt, the little Slinglets are gonna love it!

Dont'cha know it's Tuesday,..and life is good in Sling's Domain..

A well deserved award, that.

I'm sorry about standards. Babes can be so poopy that way. (I was trying to uphold something there; I'm not all that familiar with the things.)

Congratulations - good win.

Where you say Craggy Island - how odd...that is what we called our home "Craggy Island" because its on a flood plain and after Craggy Island of Father ted fame.

Why am I laughing at your saying you started blogging to pick up babes - don't give up I am sure there is one out there in blogland just right for you...even if she has standards...or not

Haha, so THAT'S why you strip search us upon entry, eh?? Aww Sling, I'm feeling all warm and fluffy inside now - consider yourself well and truly hugged, me friend! Thanks a million for the generous words, mind you, it's all true, of course (blush). Your caption actually made me laugh out loud, 'cos it is pretty close to the truth around some of our beaches here!

Middle Child, how sweet to meet a fellow Craggy-islander! I call our island "Craggy Isle", because I am convinced this place was the inspiration for the Father Ted series (but it is actually the Isle of Man - population 75,000). It's mid-way between Ireland and Liverpool, and although it is part of the UK, we have our own government and currency, and haven't even joined Europe yet! When I first came here from London, eight years ago, much as I love the place, I often thought I'd moved to a lunatic assylum (grin). We have a strong fairie lore, and quite a few customs "outsiders" find odd.. like never forgetting to greet the little people as we cross fairie bridge (lest they put a hex on you), or banning the word "rat" (they are called long-tails over here, it's dreadful bad luck to utter the other name). I could go on, but I'd be here all day! Anyways, it's lush and green, mainly because it rains and rains so much, and everyone knows everybody, as well as their great uncle. Took me a couple of years to adjust, but now? I wouldn't leave it for the world.

The book is winging it's way to you Sling, as I type!

Hi Sling,

That Shrinky is the best! We've been blog mates for about 3 years now. A super cyber friendship.

I am thrilled you won. Your caption certainly makes me laugh, as I do like to see Shrinky being poked fun at.

Enjoy the book! Thanks the links.
